About The Bull Pens

The Bull Pens is a stunning barn conversion 6 miles northwest of Brecon in the Brecon Beacons. This spacious holiday home is split into two connected barns, making it perfect for two families or groups who want togetherness with privacy. Set in the heart of the Brecon Beacons, this spot offers proper Welsh countryside without being too far from civilization. The area is famous for its dark skies - there's even a telescope so you can check out Uranus after dark! The outdoor play area and games barn with table tennis, pool table and various games will keep everyone entertained when you're not out exploring the national park.

The accommodation comprises two connected barns sleeping 8 people total across 4 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms. Each barn has its own kitchen, dining area seating 8 and lounge with wood-burning stove. The Lower Barn features leather sofas and a ground-floor bedroom perfect for those with mobility needs. Both sections have FreeSat TV, DVD players and WiFi.

We spent Christmas in the Bull Pens and honestly, it was brilliant. The place is really well kept and the rooms are spacious with lovely decor, making everything feel cosy and inviting. The Christmas touches like the tree and lights added a magical vibe. We loved the wood-burning stove; it made the whole place super warm and perfect for evening board games. It's pretty remote, but still close enough to Brecon for a quick trip out. Definitely a stay we'd do again!

We loved having a table big enough for all of us to eat together. It is really remote here. There are no takeaways or pubs around - and no phone reception!
