Bwthyn Onnen in Ystrad Meurig, Cardigan/Ceredigion

Beautiful quiet location. Lovely log fire and hot tub

I'll start with the positives which are the beautiful views from the cottage, the bed in the main bedroom is comfy and the owners are lovely and helpful and quick to respond. We did have a few issues with things in the cottage which the owners are aware of and fixed what they could and quickly and gave free logs to apologise which was great. It said on the listing that there is a pub within a mile, there isn't it's a hotel that doesn't serve alcohol. The hot tub needs updating as the jets fall out and the headrests are covered in mold. This is also the first cottage that doesn't supply bath robes for the cottage with a hot tub. Also it's considered as luxury on the website but things were missing to class this as luxury. No chopping board, no hand soap in any bathroom, no hand towel in the downstairs toilet, no salt and pepper, no anti bac spray to clean surfaces, no scissors, no coasters, no tea coffee and sugar, no welcome pack. Frying pan is old and sticky so when you cook your food is stuck to it and doesn't come off. Also no guest book which is the first ever cottage we've known not to have one. Which is nice to look over to see how other holidays have gone and get tips of where to go. Overall we felt abit underwhelmed, we would return as a fair good price and views so nice but would have to bring everything stated that is normally supplied in luxury cottages. We feel it needs to be changed to not luxury and also please don't state pub in a mile when there isn't.
